Your Poem

The poem you wrote for me is like the sun –

I feel its warmth no matter where I go.

In galaxies of stars, there is not one

Illuminates my heart with half its glow.

Like flowers, I stand tall within its sight.

It paints my sky and points me on my way.

And in the darkest hours of the night,

It whispers promises to bring back day.

It beckons me to shed my winter coat.

It wants to lift the shadows from my view.

Its words burn like an ember in my throat.

It sparkles with the radiance of you.

What beauty would these eyes of mine amaze

If only I could stand to meet its gaze?

A bright yellow sun with orange rays shines against a warm yellow background.
